Volunteer

For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
—Mark 10:45

We believe that serving, or giving of our time and abilities to help others, is a vital part of every Christian’s walk with Christ. It is our privilege to be Christ’s hands and feet to those in need in our church, community, and world. There are many ways you can serve here at SCC. Read this information first and if you have any questions, please contact the church office at 541-549-1201. We look forward to having you on our team!

FAQs

How do I volunteer?

There are many ways to get involved serving in our church. Some ministries are simple to join and all it takes is talking to the head of those ministries. Others require a few more steps and qualifications (children's ministries, music, leading Bible studies, etc.). If you are interested in volunteering or, if you have more questions, send Mikee a note at mstutzman@sisterschurch.com. We will gladly answer any questions you have.

How do I volunteer with music?

Our music ministry incorporates outside musicians, as well as selected musicians in our congregation. In order to get on the music team, musicians need to go through a try-out process and be selected to serve "up front." But, we have several other opportunities to join in with music, such as jam nights, children's church, and special music events. If music is your passion and the way you want to serve, let us know and we will help you get involved.

How do I volunteer with kids?

Our children are precious and we work hard to protect them and teach them God's word. That is why we go through an extensive application process, including background checks, online training, and interview. Please make this a priority and go through this process diligently if you are interested in helping serve our children. Our children are worth the effort and extra precautions. Contact the children’s ministry and we will get back to you with next steps to continue the application process.

How do I lead a Bible study?

Our Bible Study and small group leaders are qualified to teach based on their biblical education, life experience, and leadership ability. We recommend contacting the elders about the Bible Study you want to teach. Let us know how we can support your efforts to lead a group here at the church.
