DANCE CONNECTION
Find your rhythm. Dance, Laugh, Repeat.

Dance classes are coming to SCC! Classes begin October 5, in the SCC Gym weekly on Mondays from 7-9 p.m. Each month we’ll explore a different Latin or ballroom dance. Join us for a beginning level group class followed by social dancing. No previous dance experience and no partner required, ages 18+. Classes are taught by Liz Lopez of Sisters Dance Academy, a Latin dance instructor from Ecuador. Cost: $5 per class per person

Widows of all ages are invited to join this supportive group of local women to share experiences, stories, and friendship in a safe environment. There is no agenda, just an opportunity to share a potluck of salads, connect with others who truly understand, and find hope together. Monthly gatherings are the first Friday of every month from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. in Room 5.

Our guest presenter, Mark Englizian, is a former business executive (Tektronix, Microsoft, Amazon), author, and Sisters resident. He and his wife, Carol, are faithful supporters of the SCC Youth Ministry.

High school students and parents are invited to engage together on the topic of "job satisfaction and financial freedom." In an informal group participation format, we will learn about the education and career readiness challenges facing young people. We will explore God's design for work, and what can be learned from a person's first jobs. We will also discuss in detail the virtuous cycle of work, income, spending, and contribution. The choices we make are critical to experiencing financial freedom. The final session will highlight the important skills of networking, creating household margin, generosity, stewardship, tax efficiency, and exposure to real success stories.

GriefShare Fall 2026 Session

GriefShare is a Christ-centered teaching focused  on grief topics associated with the death of a loved one. The GriefShare program includes 12 weekly sessions comprised of a DVD seminar featuring nationally respected grief experts and real-life stories, followed by a group discussion about what was viewed. Participant workbooks provide structured daily devotions between weekly group meetings. Whether your bereavement experience is a recent one, or not so recent, you will find encouragement, comfort, and help in grieving the death of a spouse, child, parent, sibling, other family members, or friend. You will learn how to recognize the symptoms of being stuck in grief and learn how to face your new normal and renew your hope for the future. The next session of GriefShare will begin on Thursday, September 3, and meets weekly from 4-6 p.m. through November 19 in Room #5 at SCC.

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)

We have to understand the Bible in order to be transformed by it. What if there were places where the Bible actually taught us how to study the Bible? It turns out there are! This is the focus of our women’s drop-in Bible study this summer. No homework or preparation are required. Just drop in and learn how to be transformed by God’s word. All materials will be provided at no cost to you. We look forward to seeing you!

Everyone is invited to join us for a fun afternoon of fellowship after the second service! Come and enjoy food, conversation, and time to connect with others from our church family. On Sunday, July 5 after the 10 a.m. service (11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.), meet us on the patio for hotdogs, lemonade, and popsicles. Feel free to bring a picnic lunch for your family as well — we’ll even have the grill available to share.
