Discover your S.H.A.P.E.
Discover your S.H.A.P.E.
God didn’t design ministry for just a few with seminary degrees. Here at Sisters Community Church, we believe that every member of our church is a minister. This is what this training is all about. This course is designed to assist believers to discover their SHAPE (spiritual gifts, heart, abilities, personality, experiences). Further, this class will mobilize you into your place of service.
As followers of Christ, we are each uniquely created and equipped in advance for His work: “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10
Therefore… come and Discover your SHAPE… learn how God has uniquely molded you to minister to others for Him.
What is S.H.A.P.E.?
S = Spiritual Gifts – This will show how God has gifted you.
H= Your Heart – This will show you what you love to do.
A= Your Abilities – This helps you recognize your natural talents and skills.
P= Your Personality – This shows how you are inclined to act/react in ministry.
E= Your Experiences and Interests – This shows where you have a passion to serve in ministry.
The SHAPE class begins Sunday, January 11. We would like to encourage you to register now and mark your calendar for this 4-week class. One-hour classes will be held in Room #2 at the Student Center from 8:30-9:30 a.m.

The Way of Jesus
Welcome to "The Way of Jesus" (formally, Apprentice)...One of the 4 Core Classes here at SCC.
Following Jesus has long been likened to a spiritual journey. When Jesus invited his first disciples to “follow” him on the “way,” he was simultaneously saying that discipleship to him is a lifelong path.
This course is just a primer. It’s designed to get you started on the journey of spiritual formation, help you get unstuck if you’ve stalled out, or just guide you into taking your
next step. Ultimately, its goal is to train you to live as an apprentice of Jesus: to be with Jesus, become like him, and do as he did.
Whatever prompted you to join us, welcome. I’m so happy you’re here.
May this experience lay the foundation for a life of apprenticeship to Jesus that you can build on for decades to come.
This class will run from October 5-November 23, from 4-5:30 p.m. on Sundays in the Fireside Room.
No cost. Registration is required, and there will be weekly homework to discuss. Register online here.
GriefShare Fall/Winter Session
GriefShare is a Christ-centered teaching focused on grief topics associated with the death of a loved one. The GriefShare program includes 13 weekly sessions comprised of a DVD seminar featuring nationally respected grief experts and real-life stories, followed by a group discussion about what was viewed. Whether your bereavement experience is a recent one, or not so recent, you will find encouragement, comfort, and help in grieving the death of a spouse, child, parent, sibling, other family members, or friend. You will learn how to recognize the symptoms of being stuck in grief and learn how to face your new normal and renew your hope for the future. More information and registration is available at this link.
The next session of GriefShare will begin on Thursday, September 25, and meets weekly from 2-4 p.m. at SCC. (Special Note: The group will not be meeting on 11/27 because of Thanksgiving, but will make up that day on Friday, December 12. Same time & location.)

If God is real and good, why is there so much pain and suffering?
