SCC Global Partner Focus: Prayer Request

12/19/2023
Dear SCC family,

As a church, we recently had the privilege to host Jeremy, Lidia, and their family, who came and shared with us about their work in a Central Asia country. Many of you may have been in a life group that Jeremy and Lidia visited with. They were blessed to be able to meet so many people in our church on a more personal level than a one-day worship service experience usually provides them. They have expressed to us how much they felt welcomed and loved by our church.

Families who live and work in countries other than their own receive many blessings and personal benefits from their living circumstances. They also deal with unique challenges. One of those challenges is how to help their children re-enter their home country culture(s), especially as they face the high school to university transition. After living 8 years in their global working environment, they are facing this challenge. After spending time with our church and experiencing the life of the church and the community they are considering coming to live in Sisters temporarily for the next 18 months (Lord willing) to help their children face the coming life transitions that are rapidly approaching for them.

We are letting you know that they have a need for a 3-bedroom house or apartment in Sister Country. Lord willing, they would like to relocate to Sisters beginning January 2024 (next month). As you can imagine, they live on limited funds and at the present time can only afford about $1500 per month rent. Perhaps you or someone you know has a rental, vacant home, or apartment that they might make available to them for that time frame? Please join us in praying for them and their need.

In Christ,

SCC Missions Committee
